Ian Shapiro, Cooley’s former head of East Coast business litigation, a member of its board of directors and its newest New York office leader, sees opportunities to continue to build the firm’s brand on the East Coast despite some recent turbulence in the firm’s ranks.

Shapiro, in an interview on Monday, said that Cooley’s execution in New York since its launch in 2006 has helped it establish the dominant practice for entrepreneurs and innovative companies in the market. Today, the office is the Silicon Valley-born firm’s largest, with 238 attorneys.
