A trial judge called her “the most credible witness ever to give testimony before this court,” but the Tennessee Court of Appeals ruled that a fired school secretary failed to make a prima facie case that she was treated unfairly.

The Tennessee Court of Appeals reversed a lower court’s $125,000 verdict for plaintiff Shirley Quinn, finding she did not adequately identify a “similarly situated” employee of Shelby County Schools who engaged in the same conduct but was treated more fairly.
