Sophia Z. Lee, currently a professor of both law and history at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, has been named as the law school’s next dean—the first woman to serve in that role.

Lee, a legal historian whose scholarship synthesizes constitutional and administrative law, has been a faculty member at Penn Carey Law since 2009, and will become dean on July 1, according to her bio and the school’s announcement.
