What You Need to Know

  • Kitces.com’s advanced financial planning educational content will be offered to all Simply Paraplanner advisors as part of a new pact.
  • Content will include the Nerd’s Eye View blog, on-demand webinars and original Kitces Research white papers.
  • The shift to online education in recent years has led to a rapid increase in demand for Kitces.com advanced educational content.

Kitces.com will provide its educational content to all advisors in the Paraplanner Academy program as part of a partnership with Simply Paraplanner that was jointly announced by the organizations on Monday.

The new partnership will provide Kitces.com’s advanced financial planning educational content, including its Nerd’s Eye View blog, Kitces on-demand webinars, Office Hours and original Kitces Research white papers to Simply Paraplanner advisors.

The content will help the advisors fulfill their annual continuing education needs for the CFP, CPA, enrolled agent and other professional designations and licenses.

Simply Paraplanner advisors will also get discounts on Kitces Summits and courses, the organizations said.

“The shift to online education in recent years has led to a rapid increase in demand for Kitces.com advanced educational content, with our Members Section up nearly 20% in 2022, and our inquiries for in-person speaking engagements up more than 50%,” according to Michael Kitces, Kitces.com publisher and chief financial planning nerd.

“While there has been no shortage of free webinars and free [continuing education] in the advisor community, you usually get what you pay for, and for experienced advisors and leading wealth management firms, there’s still no substitute for continuing education that actually teaches you something new and useful to apply with your clients,” he said in a statement.

Simply Paraplanner has “long admired the advanced educational content of Michael’s Nerd’s Eye View blog, and his content is actively read amongst our community already,” according to Alex Hopkin, founder and CEO of Simply Paraplanner. “It was only natural to extend the relationship further and allow our Paraplanner Academy members to gain Continuing Education credit for all the Kitces content they were already reading,” she said.

Simply Paraplanner’s Academy Program provides educational information to those trying to break into the financial services industry or to advance their skills.

Simply Paraplanner membership features benefits that include financial planning software training on platforms like Fidelity’s eMoney, Right Capital, College Aid Pro, MoneyGuidePro and Redtail, in addition to resume reviews, networking opportunities, mastermind groups, courses and more.

The Kitces.com/Simply Paraplanner deal comes amid continued growth for Kitces.com, which, in recent years, has expanded its educational offering to include continuing education for not only CFP professionals but also CPAs, enrolled agents, certified private wealth advisors and certified investment management analysts, along with holders of other financial planning designations.
