Texas and Connecticut plaintiffs—families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting—in the Alex Jones defamation matter filed four adversary complaints in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas against Jones and his business, Free Speech Systems.

The Texas and Connecticut plaintiffs filed two lawsuits each against Jones and Free Speech Systems separately, and argued that the U.S. Bankruptcy Code bars the debtors from discharging their debt for “willful and malicious injury,” according to 11 U.S.C. §523(a)(6).
