Drug distributors Cardinal Health, McKesson Corporation and J.M. Smith Corporation were all cleared of their accused role in the opioid epidemic in Georgia’s Glynn County Superior Court on Wednesday, after a two-day jury deliberation.

The plaintiffs were family members of opioid abusers, and brought claims against the companies under the Georgia Drug Dealer Liability Act O.C.G.A. § 51-1-46 for the alleged reckless distribution of opioids, which they argued had a direct correlation to abuse suffered by the plaintiffs.
