A veteran Maryland lawyer was disbarred for allegedly failing to represent and notify his client of a default judgment entered against them for months in an underlying dispute over fees with another attorney, according the state high court’s disciplinary opinion filed Feb. 1.

Keith A. Parris, a solo practitioner was admitted to the bar in June 1987, was hired by Chaddsford, a homeowners’ association in August 2018, to represent it in a dispute over attorney fees by its former counsel with the Law Offices of Gregory A. Alexandires. The firm had been hired in August 2010 to collect past due assessments from property owners, but the board of the homeowners’ association terminated the firm in June 2017, according to the opinion.
