The Duke Energy Foundation has given a $100,000 grant to the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law nearly 80 years after one of its bus drivers killed Private Booker T. Spicely.
The grant will establish an endowed scholarship fund in Spicely’s name to benefit law students actively involved with and enrolled in the Veterans Law Clinic, and who are working on issues impacting the legal and civil rights of veterans, according to the school’s announcement.
