A New Mexico judge has stipulated to a censure for, among other misconduct, failing to recuse from a child custody matter despite her belief that one of the attorneys in the case had been the source of a newspaper article criticizing her.

According to the New Mexico Supreme Court’s Jan. 30 censure, Judge Mary W. Rosner, during proceedings in a domestic matter involving custody of a child, entered an order appointing Dr. Harold Smith to serve as the parenting coordinator in “the Soto matter.”
