An Idaho divorce lawyer has been suspended from practicing law for five years after conduct that included having a romantic relationship with a client, destroying a surveillance camera at the marital property, and, in an unrelated instance, resisting officers after an arrest linked to following a marked law enforcement vehicle too closely, according to an Idaho State Bar notice.
In another unrelated matter, the attorney, Jeffrey L. Cotton II, failed to appear at four separate court hearings in a divorce case without giving notice to his client, the court or opposing counsel, according to the public notice, which said that two years of Cotton’s five-year suspension will be withheld.
