The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has rejected a Boston attorney’s claim that he was being unfairly held to a higher standard after openly calling members of the legal community “hypocritical, delusional, sycophant, bigots” and upheld the denial of his second petition for reinstatement to practice law.

Solo trial attorney Valeriano Diviacchi appealed a single justice’s denial of his second petition for reinstatement following a 27-month suspension, as recommended by the Board of Bar Overseers. The underlying 2016 suspension stemmed from his representation of a client in a federal action filed against her by a lender.
