The Maryland Court of Special Appeals has affirmed a lower court’s ruling that upheld a lump-sum clause in a postnuptial agreement requiring the husband to pay the wife $7 million if he engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior again.
According to the opinion, Anna Niceta filed for divorce from her husband, Thomas Lloyd, on grounds of adultery Oct. 23, 2019. The pair had been married for 13 years and had two children. Lloyd was a financial adviser and Niceta was an account executive for a catering company. They were able to maintain a lifestyle beyond the means of their salaries because of Lloyd’s inherited money.
