TikTok could face a fine of up to £27 million after the U.K. Information Commisioner’s Office (ICO) found that the company may have breached U.K. data protection law and put children’s data privacy at risk.

The video sharing application, popular with children and teenagers, has been issued with a ‘notice of intent’ by the ICO after “provisional findings”  showed that the company may have failed to protect children’s privacy when using the platform.
