Good morning and welcome to Supreme Court Brief! Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson will have her formal investiture on Friday in the courtroom with a limited audience. Jackson, of course, has already settled into her new job following Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement on June 30. This morning, she will take her seat as the junior justice in the court’s “long” conference. We have a study on cert grants from those conferences. And the pressure is on House Democratic leaders from court reform groups seeking action on a Supreme Court ethics bill before the pre-election recess.
