The Virginia Supreme Court upheld the state disciplinary board’s decision to suspend a criminal defense attorney’s license for 18 months for allegedly making misleading statements to a bar investigator and for failing to report a disciplinary matter from another state.

Darren S. Haley, an attorney who maintains offices in Greenville, South Carolina, and Roanoke, Virginia, challenged the Virginia State Disciplinary Board’s suspension for violating Rules 8.1 Bar Admission and Disciplinary Matters, subsections (c)-(d), and Rule 8.4 Misconduct, subsection (b).
