Judge Laurie Selber Silverstein approved almost $2.3 billion in funds to settle sexual abuse claims against the Boy Scouts of America, confirming the majority of the Chapter 11 plan presented in a month-long hearing.

Attorneys for some of the 82,209 total abuse claimants said Monday they’re looking to make adjustments and get a final confirmation order in place within a month, with the possibility that the settlement trust, already the largest for sexual abuse claims in U.S. history, will grow now that Silverstein has rejected many of the non-settling insurers’ objections to its administration and various releases.
