The chef judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts has declined to reinstate a Boston attorney who served nearly three years in prison for multiple money laundering offenses, despite the commonwealth of Massachusetts recently approving him to practice in the state.

Robert A. George Sr., a criminal defense lawyer with more than 30 years of experience, was found guilty by a jury in 2012 on seven counts, including money laundering, money laundering conspiracy, aiding and abetting money laundering, and structuring transactions.
