A bitterly divided U.S. Supreme Court on Friday, in more than 200 pages of opinions and appendices, justified their support for or opposition to the withdrawal of the right to abortion that American women have held for a half century.
The majority opinion by Justice Samuel Alito Jr. was remarkably similar in substance and tone to a draft opinion leaked in May that was written by Alito in February overturning Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey.
