This morning we return to the collective insight my Law.com colleague Tasha Norman has been unearthing through Q&As with newly-tapped partners as part of her “How I Made It” series. More than 40 litigators took part in Tasha’s “How I Made Partner” series over the past year, and today we’re going to take stock of what a half dozen new(-ish) partners at litigation boutiques had to say about what it takes to make partner in smaller, more finely focused shops.

While one might think that litigation boutiques are the domain of gunners who know what they want out of their legal career from the get-go, some of the partners Tasha touched base with have taken non-traditional paths to the law. Collectively, they stressed the humanity of practicing in a place where the partners all know one another and where opportunities come fast to those who want them.
