As chairperson of the State Bar of Georgia Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP), I thought I was doing a pretty good job. We were rocking and rolling, utilization numbers were up, all was good. Then I heard many more lawyers wanted to use their six prepaid counseling sessions but didn’t know how or what would happen when they called LAP’s 800 number.

Members of the state bar’s wellness committee compiled a web page of bullet points “demystifying” the LAP counseling process. When I speak about the LAP, I encourage people to go read it. Problem solved.
