Consumer Class Action/Mass Tort Defense

Weil, Gotshal & Manges partner Edward Soto, counsel Pravin R. Patel and associate Brian G. Liegel have stepped in to defend Burger King in a pending class action over the safety of the fast food chain’s packaging. The suit, filed April 14 in Florida Southern District Court by Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum Bluestein and the Keeton Firm, alleges that wrappers and bags used for BK’s ‘Whopper’ burger, cookies and chicken nuggets contain harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Joan A. Lenard, is 1:22-cv-21150, Cooper v. Burger King Corporation.  >> Read the filing on Law.com Radar.
