A federal appeals court found a Florida law meant to prohibit social media companies from banning or censoring political viewpoints is likely unconstitutional, and refused to lift an injunction blocking most parts of the law.

Judges Kevin Newsom, Gerald Bard Tjoflat and Ed Carnes for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on Monday largely affirmed a district court ruling stopping the enforcement of parts of Florida’s law, including provisions that would prohibit tech giants like Facebook and Twitter from booting political candidates from their services, “shadow-banning” posts by or about candidates, and censoring “journalistic enterprises.”
