3M lost a $77.5 million verdict in the final bellwether trial in Florida over its dual-ended combat earplugs.

Friday’s verdict, in a trial that began May 9 in Pensacola, Florida, caps a year of 16 bellwether trials that U.S. District Judge M. Casey Rodgers planned despite the risks and restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic. She enlisted the help of other federal judges, such as U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg, of the Southern District of Florida, who presided over the final trial.
