Finding that “essentially the same arguments” failed to ward off state disbarment, a federal judge in Massachusetts has disbarred a veteran Boston attorney from federal court for allegedly misusing third-party funds.

Richard W. Gannett has maintained that his due process rights were violated during state ethics proceedings because his counsel was ineffective. However, those argument didn’t seem to stick at any point through the disciplinary proceedings for Gannett, who founded Gannett & Associates in 1989 and worked in debt litigation, asset recovery, and insurance litigation.
