The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit has a new chief judge.
Judge David Barron stepped into the role Friday after former Chief Judge Jeffrey Howard, who held the position since 2015, assumed senior status this week. Barron, 54, is the court’s 11th chief judge, which is selected by age and seniority.
