Attorneys from King & Spalding are suing San Francisco’s District Attorney Chesa Boudin on behalf of the victim of an allegedly anti-Asian assault, who claims a “lenient” plea deal the office gave to his attacker violated his constitutional rights.

The lawsuit follows reports of an uptick in “anti-Asian incidents,” and seeks a court order requiring the DA’s office to “institute basic training and protocols and provide humane support and assistance to Asian American victims of violence in the aftermath of attacks, during criminal prosecution, at and after sentencing.”
