A Massachusetts appellate panel ordered a former town manager to forfeit all of his $1.5 million pension after he pleaded guilty to numerous crimes in connection to his job.

On Friday, the appellate court affirmed Essex County Superior Court Judge Kathleen M. McCarthy’s judgment that Andrew Bisignani forfeit his retirement allowance—the state’s largest known pension forfeiture by a public employee to date—as required by state law in Andrew Bisignani v. Justices of the Lynn Division of the District Court Department of the Trial Court.
