The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit’s Judicial Council has dismissed a misconduct complaint against two federal judges over their hiring of a law clerk reported to have a history of making racist remarks.
Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to the judiciary in November pressing for an investigation into Judge William Pryor of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and U.S. District Judge Corey Maze of the Northern District of Alabama over their hiring of a law clerk who, according to media reports, was pushed out of a job at the conservative student political organization Turning Point USA after texting “I HATE BLACK PEOPLE” to colleagues.
