A law firm led by Republican attorney Harmeet Dhillon has asked the California Supreme Court to fire Strumwasser & Woocher from its role as counsel to the state’s redistricting commission, alleging that the Los Angeles firm has too many ties to the Legislature and Democrats.

In an emergency petition filed Tuesday, Dhillon, representing five voters, also accused the firm of improperly counseling line-drawing commissioners to keep some voting analyses private.
