A bankruptcy judge has ordered that all talcum powder lawsuits be stayed for 60 days, pending a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary’s Chapter 11 filing that he transferred from North Carolina to New Jersey.

Both decisions occurred during a Wednesday hearing in the Oct. 14 bankruptcy of LTL Management, which Johnson & Johnson created to absorb talc liabilities tied to more than 38,000 lawsuits alleging is baby powder caused ovarian cancer or mesothelioma.
