A Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit panel affirmed in part and reversed in part a ruling regarding Title IX violations for a St. Cloud State University’s treatment of its female athletes Thursday.

Ten St. Cloud State University female athletes filed a class action lawsuit in April 2016 against the university after it shut down six of its sports teams, including the women’s tennis and Nordic skiing teams. The athletes alleged gender discrimination in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972.
