Jury selection in the civil trial against the organizers of the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, is trudging into a third day, as lawyers seek to find jurors who have unbiased opinions about what happened during the violent rally.

Just how strongly affected some Charlottesville residents remain over the violence that took place four years ago was apparent as they took the stand in Judge Norman Moon’s federal courtroom in the Western District of Virginia. Some described personal opinions about the defendants, the organizers of the white supremacist rally, that they simply couldn’t overcome.
