Heather Nagengast to Head Ameritas Investment Arm: Personnel Moves

Ameritas has named Heather Nagengast to be president of its Ameritas Investment Company/Ameritas Advisory Services unit. She has been the unit’s senior vice president for agency and advisor distribution.

She began working for Ameritas in 2013, as a vice president with the retail sales team.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Equitable

Equitable has hired Tony Perez to be chief acquisition officer for its employees group. He will be in charge of underwriting, pricing and other matters related to acquiring customers.

Perez previously was the chief underwriting officer for the group benefits and worksite division at Guardian Life. He also has held several positions at Cigna, including chief underwriting officer.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Institutional Retirement Income Council

IRIC has picked Michelle Richter to be its executive director.

She is the founder and owner of Fiduciary Insurance Services. Before that, she spent three years as the managing director for retirement enhancement solutions at Milliman.

Earlier, she was chief operating officer at Alesia Re, a reinsurer based in the Cayman Islands, and head of products and operations for institutional products at New York Life Insurance Company.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in business from Columbia University.

Sidley Austin

Sidley — a law firm — has brought in Michael Devins as a partner in the New York office. Devins handles insurance and reinsurance transactions. He previously was a member of the financial institutions group at Debevoise & Plimpton.

He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and a law degree from Georgetown.
