The 374-page report Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released Monday exonerating himself from accusations of criminal wrongdoing was written by unnamed attorneys who work for him—and was quickly met with skepticism, with one lawyer calling it “ghost-written.”

“The report does not identify an author because this is an agency document,” said Alejandro Garcia, the Office of Attorney General’s communications director. “A group of AG lawyers were involved in investigating and writing the report. These lawyers were not involved in the underlying matters that were the subject of the report.”
