More than a year after Johnson & Johnson won the last talcum powder verdict, trials involving ovarian cancer victims are gearing up again, with the first scheduled to start July 12.

Juries have awarded billions of dollars to women who got ovarian cancer, or their families, after decades of using baby powder and other talcum powder products made by Johnson & Johnson. Among those was a $4.7 billion jury award in 2018, later reduced to $2.1 billion. Johnson & Johnson, which has defended the safety of its products, has also lodged some victories, including the most recent trial in late 2019.
