About 18 firms in the Am Law 200 have their roots or a substantial presence in Washington, D.C. In the first 100, that includes 10 heavyweights such as Hogan Lovells, Covington & Burling, Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and six others. Growth at these 10 big firms averaged 4.77%. Nationwide, Am Law 100 firms averaged an increase in revenue of 6.6%.
