The success of remote work during the pandemic combined with the current tight market for talent has prompted a growing number of Am Law 100 firms—including Perkins Coie, Husch Blackwell and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe—to hire associates outside of their existing locations.

Several of these firms had been at the vanguard of embracing flexible working even before the arrival of COVID-19. But the experience of the last 15 months has prompted them to accelerate their acceptance of the practice, particularly for associates, and to begin formalizing these arrangements.
