Equitable Names Benefits Chief: Personnel Moves

Equitable has hired Stephanie Shields to be head of its employee benefits business.

The New York-based company’s benefits business provides life, disability, dental, vision and supplemental health insurance plans for employees at small and medium-sized employers.

Shields previously was senior vice president, broker sales, at Aflac. She also has worked as a marketing consultant at Willis Towers Watson, and later as a vice president of voluntary solutions at Cigna Corp.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a master’s degree in business from Drexel University in Chicago.

In other personnel moves news.

Policygenius hired Chad Angle to be vice president of sales, life operations.

The New York-based company sells life insurance and estate planning services online.

Angle previously was the chief operating officer at Safety Services.

He also has been vice president of operations at Televerse and head of inside sales and sales operations at Comcast.

He has a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University.

BenefitMall has hired Randal Mitchell to be sales manager in the consumer products division and Alvin Sims to be a business development executive.

BenefitMall is a Dallas-based benefits distributor.

Mitchell previously worked as a consultant in the health insurance industry. Before that, he was  vice president, sales, client management and sales operations, at Scott & White Health Plan.

Earlier in his career, he was the CEO of American Health Underwriters, an individual health plan marketing organization, for 18 years.

He attended Oral Roberts University and Dallas Theological Seminar.

Sims previously was a consumer products division sales manager at BenefitMall. He started at the company as a broker sales rep in 2012.
