Oscar Names Virtual Primary Care Team Head: Personnel Moves

Oscar Health Inc. has hired Dr. Okiki Louis to be president of its Oscar Medical Group arm.

Oscar Health is a New York-based health insurer that recently went public.

The company offers its own health care providers and uses care coordination in an effort to reduce the cost of care and improve the quality. Oscar Medical Group oversees a group of physician-owned practices that provide online urgent care and online primary care for Oscar health plan enrollees.

Louis has been vice president of operations in the Mountain Region for Concentra.

Earlier in her career, she was worked as an emergency medicine physician. She also has been an urgent care physician at WellStar Health.

Louis has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

In other personnel moves news:

Chubb has named Suresh Krishnan, its chief operating officer for North America Accident and Health, to be executive vice president, head of North America Specialty Accident and Health.

Chubb also has promoted Lauren Gorte to be chief operating officer, Specialty Accident and Health. Gorte previously was Chubb’s errors and omissions product manager.

The specialty and health unit sells products such as travel medical insurance.

Krishnan has a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and a law degree from the University of Richmond.

Gorte has a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has promoted Amy Hudson to vice president of major accounts, from vice president for sales and strategic relations, and named Paul Valley to  be vice president of commercial sales at Blue Cross and Blue Shield if Western New York.

Hudson and has a bachelor’s degree from Truman State University and a master’s degree in education from Iowa State University.
