The pandemic may have halted overseas travel and Brexit may have worsened relations with the EU, but large U.K. corporations are ramping up their international legal spend, according to research by Thomson Reuters.

A survey of more than 250 in-house lawyers in the U.K. found that 38% plan to up their international legal spending, almost twice the 21% that plan to cut it. The international component of legal spend for U.K. corporations in 2020 was 42%, compared with the global average of 35%, the report found.
