As the Democratic primary looms for the Philadelphia district attorney’s race, the city Democratic Party’s decision not to endorse incumbent Larry Krasner or any other candidate certainly does not help his reelection bid.

But the rare move by the party may have less to do with Krasner himself than one might think. Additionally, other factors like Philadelphia’s soaring violent crime rate are likely to have more of an impact with voters than the party’s decision not to endorse a candidate.
