Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has appealed his 2020 conviction on two sex crimes charges, claiming that a New York trial judge’s handling of the case had denied him his right to a fair trial.

The 170-page appeal, filed Monday in the Appellate Division, First Department, cited the “carnival-like” atmosphere surrounding Weinstein’s Manhattan trial last year and argued that errors surrounding both the prosecution and the jury that convicted him had violated his constitutional rights.
