A New Jersey judge has dismissed a suit claiming that a baldness remedy is ineffective after the lawyer for the putative class made himself the class representative.

The suit was dismissed because the lawyer-plaintiff claimed that the product, Re-Nourish, did not stimulate hair growth even though he never used it himself. The lawyer asserted that a consumer product made claims in advertising that weren’t substantiated by research, but that sort of claim is reserved for the attorney general, the court said.
