Despite constrained budgets and a greater pressure to innovate, more than 50% of general counsel say legal transformation projects failed to meet their expectations, according to data published by research and advisory company Gartner on Tuesday.

The data shows only 49% of general counsel who responded to the survey agreed that those projects met expectations for quality; 47% of respondents indicated that projects were completed within budget, and 43% of respondents said the projects were “met with the overall satisfaction of legal leadership.”
