By now, organizations and their legal departments have plenty of experience trying to fold COVID-19 precautions into their operating structure. Still, as the holiday season begins and employees start to travel more frequently in and out of state, attorneys could find themselves revisiting established policies while simultaneously attempting to consider the challenges levied by the prospect of a vaccine.

But first, there’s the holidays to get through. On Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued guidance urging Americans to remain at home during the upcoming holiday season. While that may seem straightforward enough, some legal departments and their organizations may still find themselves playing catchup when it comes to building—and then enforcing—mechanisms that reflect that guidance.
