There’s a pretty good chance that Michael Carlinsky, Andrew Rossman and John Rhie of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan would have won Litigator of the Week this week based purely on the fact that the Delaware Court of Chancery let their client walk away from a $5.8 billion deal to buy 15 luxury hotels in the U.S.—a decision that marked only the second time the preeminent business court had allowed a buyer to back out of a merger deal.

But the win they scored in a 242-page decision issued Monday by Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster didn’t stop there.
