Despite greater attention being given to diversity and inclusion, a majority of general counsel are still unsure of how origination credit is given at the law firms they work with, which puts a hindrance on moving the needle.

According to a poll published by Burford Capital in May, 52% of in-house counsel are unaware of how their law firms award origination credit. Experts say if in-house leaders don’t ask how credit is awarded, law firms won’t make changes needed to advance diversity.
