A Florida law school professor and the university where he teaches are at odds over his employment status—he says he has been fired, and the school says he is still employed—as faculty members have spoken out to condemn his offensive Twitter activity.

Last week, University of Miami School of Law professor Daniel Ravicher posted a handful of tweets that were deemed racially insensitive and unprofessional by students and colleagues. That led to a phone call with Dean Anthony E. Varona wherein the dean told Ravicher his contract would not be renewed if he didn’t change his pattern of tweets and issue an apology, Ravicher told Law.com in an interview.
