AIG Expands Roles of 2 Top Executives: Personnel Moves

American International Group has expanded the roles of two top executives.

The New York-based insurer has named Lucy Fato to be global head of communications and government affairs. Fato was already AIG’s general counsel, and she will continue in that role as well.

AIG has named Emily Garbaccio to be global head of corporate communications and global chief marketing and communications officer, general insurance. Garbaccio has been AIG’s global head of leadership and transformation communications, general insurance, and she will keep that title, AIG says.

Fato has a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Garbaccio has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

National Guardian Life Insurance Company, Madison, Wisconsin, has hired Larry Moore to be regional vice president — individual products.

Moore will help manage distribution of NGL’s EssentialLTC stand-alone long-term care insurance product.

Moore previously was a regional marketing director at Lincoln Financial. From 2013 through 2017, he was director of national training and sales development at John Hancock Insurance. He also has been a regional sales director at One America Financial Partners.

Moore has a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in business from the University of San Francisco.

Farm Bureau Financial Services, West Des Moines, Iowa, has added 17 wealth management advisors in recent months.

The newly added advisors are Angie Dietz-Robinson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Robert Dodson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Adam Entwisle of Augusta, Kansas; Kara Goodknight of Lawton, Oklahoma ; Scott Hanadel of Appleton, Wisconsin; Bart Hiner of Sandy, Utah; Gary Jones of Overland Park, Kansas; Joe Lucas of Clarinda, Iowa; Norman Rizer of Norwalk, Iowa; Keith Rowe of Omaha, Nebraska; Brad Schmitz of Lakeville, Minnesota; Brad Sharp of Edina, Minnesota; James Soukup of Overland Park, Kansas; Chad Sovey of Davenport, Iowa; Dimitri Uhlik of Scottsdale, Arizona ; Brett Ullen of Edina, Minnesota; and Matt Wojick of Rochester, Minnesota.

Maestro Health, Chicago, has hired Kim Howe to be senior vice president of human resources, Frank Brice to be chief development officer, and Joe Meyer to be senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Maestro Health is a stand-alone benefit plan administrator, or “third-party administrator.”

Howe previously was a senior director at Equitable. She has a bachelor’s degree in business from Columbia University.

Brice previously was head of U.S. health program at AXA Next. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, and a master’s degree in business from INSEAD.

Meyer previously was vice president of sales and marketing at ACS Benefit Services. He has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and a master’s degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Alera Group, Deerfield, Illinois, has hired Debra Martinez to be the chief human resources officer.

Alera is an insurance and financial services firm.

Martinez previously was global vice president of human resources at Exterran. She has a bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University and a master’s degree in public university from Roosevelt University. She will be based in Houston.
