When U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan held a hearing last week on U.S. Postal Service operations to handle election mail, he remarked on the volume of court cases addressing the same issue and suggested it might help for one judge to take the lead.
“I’m not volunteering for that by any stretch,” he quickly added, “but it would streamline matters.”
